9:30-10:30 am – Belly Dance ONLY- ALL OTHER CLASSES ARE CANCELLED FOR THIS SATURDAY MAY 19TH
No Class This Saturday!!
- Sadie and Kaya will be in Columbus Friday May 4th – Sun May 6th
Anyone who knows me knows that it kills me to skip two weeks of classes because I am all about consistency. So although I don’t like cancelling class there is no getting around it because we have a couple of major events coming up that conflict with class time on Saturdays.
This Saturday April 28th
Joe and I are the official photographers (well Joe is- I just help) for recital/ end of the year pix at Creative Motions Studio in Akron Ohio. This is a huge deal for us because it’s our first job of this size. We are nervous but we’ve done the test shoot and we are ready! So since there’s no way we can be in two places at once NO CLASSES SAT APRIL 28th.
Next Saturday May 5th
This is the largest bellydance event in the greater Columbus area all year- Cairo in Columbus. It features Sadie and Kaya, the two bellydancers from America’s Got Talent in 2011 who almost made it to the finals. The weekend is packed full of workshops taught by them, shows featuring Sadie and Kaya plus many other extremely talented local dancers, and shopping. So really anyone who is in any way interested in belly dance should at least come to the show. And anyone who is a dancer (I would say intermediate and above but you can check the Cairo website below for more info on that) should come to all the workshops! So don’t come to my class because there are NO CLASSES SATURDAY MAY 5th. Cairo in Columbus Website

My apologies to all of our hard working students at Dance du Soleil for any inconvenience with class cancellations. Believe me, the last thing I want to encourage is time off, but think of it as your spring break and come May 12th when we are back in action plan to bring your A-game!! Once we get through spring there will be less class cancellations.

This page started out as an email to answer a few questions that some of you had and somewhere in the middle of writing out this email I realized that I actually had a lot of important information to convey so I created a page just for new students called the New Student Welcome Center that students can access anytime. I plan to keep it going and update it as necessary. Check it out here!

Easter Sunday Groupon Deal!!
If you’ve been thinking of trying out my classes now’s the time! I have a Groupon coming out this Sunday (yes Easter Sunday) for new students (sorry current girls but I have other specials for you to take advantage coming up soon) and the price is really unbelievable. I’m told it will run through Tuesday April 10th so if you’re too busy with an egg hunt and cooking the ham no worries- you can always sign up Monday or Tuesday!

Class Changes
Please note effective 3-17-12 we will no longer be offering Zumba at 9 am. Instead we are offering a conditioning class for dancers at 9:30 called ballerina’s body. As a thank you to our regulars, students who pay for belly dance or jazz can take ballerina’s body for free. So come this Saturday 9:30 am and warm up with us as we work on getting a ballerina’s body!
Class Packages Available Starting This Week!
Beginning Saturday 3-17-12 per student request, we’ll be offering class packages. Packages will resemble a “punch-card” system, however Dance du Soleil will keep all punch-cards so students don’t have to worry about forgetting them.
Prices:
4 class punch-card: $48
8 Class punch-card: $96
Policies: All punch-cards will expire 2 months after purchase. Punch-cards may not be shared, are non-transferable, non-refundable and can only be used for weekly classes with Dance du Soleil. Punch-cards can’t be used for workshops, special events, private lessons, and merchandise.

Dance du Soleil Auditions in Columbus
Dance du Soleil is holding auditions for a modern belly dance fusion troupe based out of Columbus, Ohio on June 9th from 9 am- 12 noon. Dancers are required to bring a headshot and resume and will audition both as a soloist and with the group. More information will be given out at the audition. Dancers interested in auditioning should contact Leyla to register at leyla.soleil.dances@gmail.com
