We believe that all art evolves and bellydance is no exception. While Dance
du Soleil honors and respects the roots of bellydance as Raks Sharki, we
also like to experiment with fusion. Our shows typically involve a wide range
of performance styles from traditional folklore to westernized cabaret, tribal
and our own unique style we like to call "lyrical bellydance".  Because we
love to dance on the stage our style tends to lean toward the theatrical.

We believe in classical training as a base and that dance and fitness are
intertwined. It is our dream to create an annual show that our entire
community will look forward to. One of the most beautiful aspects of
bellydance is that it has the ability to bridge gaps between cultures. As the
invention of the Internet has made the world smaller, why not bring a little of
the world to Akron? If you have yet to experience a Dance du Soleil show
