Leyla is an outstanding oriental dance performer and teacher located in the Akron, Ohio
area. Dancing since the age of 8, Leyla has experimented with many different types of dance
including jazz, ballet and Flamenco. However, she knew when she by chance fell into a belly
dance class that it was the perfect form of expression for her. Now, after years of
performance and instruction experience, Leyla's reputation as a true professional who
respects the art of dance keeps her in high demand.  Her elegant, energetic style bring
something special to any occassion. Leyla performs in venues from weddings to conventions,
intimate parties to large gatherings. Leyla loves to use the finger cymbals, veil and or sword.

Melhem Baraket

Leyla along with Wind and Sand had the privilege of opening up for this Lebanese celebrity
when he came to sing in Cleveland, summer of 2006.
The Passion of Belly Dance

This show took place at the Lime Spider on November 18th, 2005 and included about 25
dancers all chosen by Leyla to perform a variety of different styles of dance related to belly
dance. This show was so successful we were sold out all night. A new version is currently in
the works and will be announced shortly when details are finalized.
Samy Fathy video

In 2005 Leyla Soleil and Cassandra Al Warda recieved the opportunity to choreograph a dance
routine for Egyptian singing star Samy Fathy. Auditions were held and 12 girls from around
Northeastern Ohio were selected to perform this choreography in a music video.
American Bellydancer

When this movie premiered in Cleveland, Leyla and Babette Soleil were selected by the
Copeland group to perform a 15 minute opening piece. Produced by Miles Copeland,
mastermind of the Bellydance Superstars, this movie is a documentary showing the
beginnings of this amazing bellydance troupe.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Leyla Soleil performed as a special guest at the Cleveland Rock Hall for the World Arts
Festival.
Instruction experience
Currently teaching beginner through advanced at Dance du Soleil, located in
downtown Akron
Taught beginner through advanced belly dance for two years at Nan Klinger's Excellence
in Dance in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio.
Taught belly dance class previously at Lifestyles the fitness club for Akron General Hospital's
Health and Wellness Center in Medina.

Also previously taught belly danceat the Northwest Family Recreation Center in Fairlawn,
Ohio.
3 hour seminar on "Planned Improv" at Ginny's Bellydance in Canfield, Oh on September 30,
2006.

TOGA!

Leyla performed in this show (no longer running) once a month alternating with Cassandra
Al Warda, Haleema Chandani and April Ahzar in this super fun variety show at Cleveland's
favorite dinner theater
Pickwick and Frolic. The show featured a band with two excellent
singers performing songs with an Animal House or frat party feeling, a hilarious majician,
comedians and a belly dancer. And they all wear togas!
Oojami at Peabody's

June 2005 Leyla Soleil put together and danced in an opener for Miles Copeland's band
Oojami from London, UK. This show featured Leyla, Babette, Wind and Sand and Gypsy
Soul.
